Safeguarding
We want every young musician involved with Juniper to feel safe, respected and supported.
Our approach
Juniper Young Musicians is committed to safeguarding children and young people involved in its activities. We follow applicable safeguarding guidance for out-of-school tuition, music lessons and related activities in England.
Parents & guardians
For musicians under 18, a parent or guardian should be aware of the application and will be included in important communication about lessons, events, travel or other arrangements.
Lessons & activities
Safeguarding arrangements will be considered for each activity, including the setting, supervision, communication and the suitability of any adults involved. Any checks required or appropriate for a particular role or activity will be handled in line with applicable requirements.
Photos, recordings & publicity
Application information, photographs, recordings or a young musician’s name will not be published or used for publicity without separate permission from the parent or guardian where required.
Concerns
If a safeguarding concern arises, the welfare of the child comes first. Concerns will be taken seriously and, where necessary, referred to the appropriate safeguarding or statutory service.
Emergency
If a child is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services on 999. For non-emergency safeguarding concerns, the appropriate local authority children’s services or other relevant safeguarding service may be contacted.
